Grandma Banks was truly a beautiful woman inside and out. I learned so much about our family from her and I could sit and listen to her for hours. I miss not being in NY to see her in these later years.... but my love for this woman knows no bounds... I miss your smile and your hugs...
Rest in peace beautiful soul.... Loving you always

Aunt Norma was the personification of grace and love, quietly embracing and positively impacting everyone she knew. The memories of visiting my cousin Belinda are forever etched on my heart because to me, Aunt Norma and Uncle McKinley’s home set the perfect example of family life as it should be. My home was a mad house by comparison, especially after my mother passed. Growing up I thanked God every day for Aunt Norma and the village, that I so lovingly had, that it takes to raise a child. She was loved so much and we who had the privilege to share in that love will have it forever to pass on to others in her name. She will be sorely missed. Michael and I send our prayers, sympathy, and abounding love to the Banks family. May God always bless and comfort you.

My Godmother & Aunt Norma,
Who I have always admired, who has inspired me in ways I regret I never got the courage to express. Your poise, I admired the most it was never loud it was never intimidating it was gentle it was quiet it was uplifting and welcoming and all so powerful at the same time. I can say I never saw you distressed, bothered or unhappy. Your aura brought me such sense of unconditional love and support. I always was in awe of your beauty, both inside and out. I can say you have left an impression on my heart and I aspire to be poised just like you. I love you. Rest in Paradise with eternal love.❤️

She was a loving person who loved to laugh & enjoy herself. I could be thinking about something & she would come straight to me and say Hey "cuz" & give me a nice big warm hug which did wonders for my soul. Especially because we are living through days where people who know you look straight at you, say nothing & keep walking. "Cuz" doesn't have to worry because her legacy will be continued as we continue to walk, talk, dance & laugh with grace in our faith!

This photo is a recent memory of Aunt Norma in May of 2023. But some of my favorite memories with her (of which I don’t have photos) are the days we spent at her house in Virginia in the 1990s. That house was in the middle of nowhere, but Aunt Norma would cook delicious meals every day, we’d watch jeopardy and wheel of fortune every evening, and at some point each night we’d all sit together and listen to stories from my father and Uncle McKinley. I will always miss Aunt Norma.
