My dear Marilyn,
We have been friends for two thirds of our lives. There were times when our commitments kept us apart, but our friendship endured.
We shared fun times, sad times, hilarious times & tragic times. We rejoiced in the successes and consoled in the tough hits of life.
You will live forever in my heart. And I will always, always laugh when I remember, "I'm perfectly sober if I have to be."
Your loving friend Carol.

I will miss Marilyn's presence in the neighborhood. We had many walks and talks together down at the Amityville Beach with her beloved Tinkerbell. She was a gracious lady with a heart a gold. My condolences to the family.

When I was a kid, Marilyn and John gave me a dollar bill annotated "Anke's 1st dollar to visit USA" as they visited us in Munich. Still have that dollar bill. Little did we all know that many visits to the US later, I would end up living here. So thankful for the visits, the phone calls and all the memories we were lucky to make. Having Marilyn and Dad Nowak at my wedding in Germany was one of the many highlights as was staying overnight on the boat with Marilyn and John at Gilgo Beach.
Together with my mom Chris and my aunt Gertrud, she stands one of my role models of fun loving adventurous women. Her laughter and compassion will be greatly missed.

My team and I worked with Marilyn on many a McVeigh meeting. She was always a joy to work with, and I loved her positive attitude and humor, especially when dealing with customers who were always complaining! Marilyn always found the lightheartedness in a situation and diffused any tension with ease. She will be missed.

The German families Ostler and Hacker will always remember her as a welcome guest at our family celebrations in Germany. We'll remember the numerless occasions we'd met in the US throughout the last 50 years. We have special memories of the Christmas we spend together in Norfolk/VA with Anke's family. Marilyn's spirit, her humor, her sophisticated way of living, all this will be in our mind and in our heart. She left us too early, we'll miss her and we are very sad. God bless her soul and give her a pleasant place in paradise.
